Milestone #2 was met today by us moving out of our house! This was\u00a0 preceded by many exhausting days of final packing. When did we acquire all\u00a0 of this stuff? I long for my college days when I could move with one small\u00a0 car load! Karen had done a great job of packing most of the house and\u00a0 coordinating with the moving company for our sensitive furniture and\u00a0 electronics. We were fortunate also that our renter, Margarita, wanted to\u00a0 use most of our furniture, and that reduced the burden of the move out\u00a0 tremendously.<\/p>\n
This morning we finished up final packing and giving away food in the fridge,\u00a0 hoping to get out of the house before Margarita showed up, but we ended\u00a0 up overlapping for an hour. We were all a bit quite and reflective as her\u00a0 belongings started filling the rooms that we had just emptied and the reality\u00a0 of our move out started to appear. It will be 13 months before we sleep,\u00a0 eat and shower in our home!<\/p>\n
With our minivan crammed full of more stuff for the boat, we drove away\u00a0 from home and headed to Portland. Our arrival at Sunset Marina meant time\u00a0 for many more loads of bins to carry aboard and find room to stow, but it\u00a0 felt good to have the whole family together in our new home on the water.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
